Mapping your environment-A Draw workshop with children from Fuldanga village,Santiniketan

After the initial bamboo leaf paper making workshop,as preparation for the second phase was  going on,we decided to conduct a drawing workshop with the e children of Fuldanga on mapping their own village .In this respect we decided to invite children from the age group of five, six to 13,14 and asked them to mapp their own home with specific reference to trees and objects in the premises.The idea was afer some initial exercise the walls around the workshop space will be covered by a painted mural by the children and draw a pictorial map of the village of Fuldanga.Before the drwaing workshop baidyanath Murmu who is passout from Kala Bhavana made a painted mural on one of the walls of the workshop space about the different steps of the bamboo leaf paper making.

This drew many of the children into the space to observe the process of painting on the wall.Then initially smallcrads were distributed and later on the children drew on bigger sheets.

Finally after the two days of drawing workshop the children were introduced to the walls.The painting workshop are primarily conducted by Baidjanath murmu who is one of the collaborator in this project and lives in Fuldanga.So in the afternoon time children from different age group joined in for the workshop.
